Magma Tattoo
Comprehensive Guide for the Maintenance and Healing of Your Body Art
Tattoo
TATTOO CARE
- Between 3 and 12 hours after the session, carefully remove the bandage or dressing covering the tattoo. If it sticks to the skin, moisten it with warm water to aid removal.
- Gently wash the tattooed area with warm water and neutral soap, such as Germisdin, glycerin soap, or intimate soap. Avoid using sponges, shampoo, or towels. Pat the area dry gently with a disposable napkin or let it air dry.
- Apply a thin layer of healing ointment, such as HOMEOPLASMINA or BEPANTHOL ointment, on the tattoo. This helps keep the skin hydrated and protected during the healing process.
- Clean the tattooed area 2-3 times a day with warm water and neutral soap. After cleaning, reapply the healing ointment in a thin layer.
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Avoid touching the tattoo with dirty hands and ensure any contact with the area is with clean hands.
- During the first few nights, you can cover the tattoo with plastic film and a very thin layer of ointment to prevent rubbing and protect it from dust and dirt.
- Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight or UV rays for the first 3 weeks. After this period, use sunscreen with a high protection factor (SPF 50+) on the exposed tattoo.
- Avoid going to the beach, pool, sauna, or jacuzzi for at least the first two weeks after getting the tattoo. Also, avoid excessive sweating and tight clothing that may rub against the tattoo.
- If the tattoo is in an area like the foot, try to rest with the leg elevated to reduce swelling.
- Watch for any signs of infection, such as excessive redness, local warmth, persistent pain, or abnormal discharge. If you notice any of these symptoms, consult your tattoo artist or a healthcare professional.
- After the skin has fully healed (between 1 and 2 weeks), replace the healing ointment with a daily moisturizing cream to keep the skin nourished and help preserve the tattoo colors.
Following these care instructions after getting a tattoo will help ensure proper healing and maintain the appearance and health of your new tattoo in the long term.
Piercing
PIERCING CARE
- After a few hours (usually between 3 and 12 hours), carefully remove the dressing or bandage covering the piercing. If it’s stuck to the skin, moisten it with warm water to aid removal.
- Gently wash the piercing area with warm water and neutral soap. It’s recommended to use soaps like Germisdin, glycerin soap, or intimate soap.
- Avoid using sponges, shampoo, or towels, and pat the area dry with a disposable napkin or let it air dry.
- Clean the piercing area at least 2-3 times a day with water and soap.
RECOMMENDATIONS
- Avoid using alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or any other products that may be irritating.
- Do not twist or manipulate the piercing more than necessary. If it’s an oral piercing, avoid moving the jewelry with your teeth.
- Wear clean, loose-fitting clothing that does not rub or irritate the piercing area.
- Keep bedsheets and pillowcases clean to prevent infections.
- If needed, you can take pain relievers like paracetamol to alleviate discomfort.
- Consuming vitamin C may aid in the healing process.
- Avoid exposing the piercing to pool water, jacuzzis, and seawater for at least the first few weeks.
- Do not use makeup, lotions, or creams on the piercing area.
WARNING SIGNS
- If you notice excessive redness, yellowish-green discharge, increased pain, localized heat, or fever, it may indicate an infection. In this case, consult with your tattoo artist or a healthcare professional.
These care instructions will help ensure proper healing and prevent complications during the piercing healing process.
